Biochemical Composition and Antioxidant Activity of Different Types of Tomatoes Affected by Ethylene Treatment

چکیده

The effect of ethylene on biochemical composition and antioxidant activity in beefsteak, heirloom cluster type tomatoes were determined. For that purpose, tomato fruit harvested at breaker maturity stage divided into two groups one which was applied with 150 μL L−1 while another remained untreated. Ethylene treated untreated control stored 12 °C 90+5% relative humidity for 35 days subsamples removed every 7 quality analysis. After each removal time, kept 20 additional 3 to determine shelf life performance. treatment enhanced the breakdown total chlorophyll accumulation lycopene carotenoid contents. At end cold storage period, maximum activity, flavonoid contents recorded tomatoes. It can be concluded exhibited maximal postharvest as compared beefsteak term after life.
